The project, which started closings last week, is 95% sold, Ms. Sunshine said. There are a total of 83 units, and prices have been $2,000 per square foot or more.
About 70% of buyers were from the U.S., while 30% were international, she added, with the Covid-19 pandemic helping to fuel demand from domestic buyers.
“There were many more buyers from the Northeast than we were anticipating,” Ms. Sunshine said. “The tax situation has a lot to do with that.”
Florida is one of nine states that does not have a state income tax.
The penthouse offers five bedrooms, six bathrooms, a library and a private roof deck overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The main level is also surrounded by terraces, and there’s also an exclusive elevator and staff room.
