A modern farmhouse on a 32-acre estate in New York’s Columbia County has hit the market for $2.65 million.
Located in Chatham, New York, about 130 miles north of Manhattan, the more than 5,000-square-foot home is surrounded by manicured lawns and rolling hills, according to last week’s listing with Katherine Jennings of Houlihan Lawrence.
“Combining brilliant design with an incomparable 32-acre setting, you’ll marvel at the far-reaching vistas that stretch west to the Catskill Mountains and east to the Taconic Range,” according to the listing.
Built in 2015, the residence boasts vaulted ceilings with exposed beams made from reclaimed wood, hand-plastered walls and three fireplaces, according to the listing.
The main floor features a living room with floor-to-ceiling, black casement French doors that lead to an outdoor patio and a sunroom, listing photos show. An eat-in kitchen offers a large island block with seating, a Lacanche range, a butler’s pantry and a deep farmhouse sink. The dining room overlooks the grounds, and there’s also a den with built-ins and a fireplace.
The primary bedroom suite is also on the first floor, offering two full bathrooms, and there are three bedrooms and two bathrooms on the upper level, according to the listing. An unfinished barn/garage allows plenty of space for parking, and has an unfinished area that could be additional accommodations, a garage or a studio.
The underlying property last sold for $540,000 in 2006, according to records with PropertyShark. The owners were not available for comment.
