A mansion near Lake Tahoe, Nevada, with views of the Carson Valley, hit the market Friday for $12.5 million.
Completed in 2020, the 6,724-square-foot four-bedroom, four-bathroom home has a curvilinear metal roof that was inspired by the mountains surrounding it, according to Jill Kaufman of Chase International. She and Georgia Chase, also of Chase International, have the listing.
“The first thing you notice is the barrel roof architecture, which is pretty amazing,” she said. “And the views are incredible. You have the whole Carson Valley, you have mountain views and everything else.”
The curved roof shape is part of the interiors, as well, and the main reception rooms have sloping beamed ceilings that mirror the shape.
“You’re getting the roof effect inside and out,” Ms. Kaufman noted.
The residence, part of the gated Clear Creek Tahoe community, was designed by Keith Kelly of Kelly & Stone Architects and built by Mark Neave of NSM Construction, both well-known local firms. It was a 2021 Grand Design Winner for the Mountain Home Awards held by “Tahoe Quarterly,” which highlights the best designs in the area.
The home boasts an open layout, oversize windows and retractable doors that lead to outdoor spaces, a chef’s kitchen, a three-car garage, a water feature with a bridge, several decks, a fire pit and nearly two acres of land, according to the listing. There’s also a recreation area on the lower level with a wet bar, retractable wall and golf simulator.
The whole Clear Creek Tahoe community is centered around golfing, Ms. Kaufman noted. It has a Coore & Crenshaw-designed golf course, which is rated the No. 1 course in Nevada, she said.
There’s also “a ton of outdoor amenities,” including hiking, biking and lake activities, she said. The Twin Pines Lake & Ski House has 180-feet of sandy beach, and guests and residents can paddle board, kayak and swim. It doubles as a ski chalet in the winter, as it’s just four blocks from the ski lifts at Heavenly Mountain Resort.
The sellers, who could not be reached for comment, bought the underlying land in 2017 for about $625,000, property records show.
