An oceanfront house in the Kohanaiki private club community in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, has changed hands for $20.6 million.
Designed in 2017 for a California winemaker by architect Shay Zak, the 1.08-acre property seamlessly integrates indoor and outdoor living, according to the listing with Cindy Corbin of Kohanaiki Realty LLC.
The 6,755 square feet of interior living space is divided into five bedrooms; five full bathrooms; one half bathroom; and open-plan living and entertaining areas with vaulted ceilings and ocean views, the listing says. Outdoors, there is an infinity pool, a lava-rock shower and tub, a koi pond, a lounge area with a firepit and a garage.
The property, known as Kahakai 25, has been on the market since last November with an asking price of $24.95 million. It went into contract in March and closed last week, listing records show.
The seller bought the property last June for $19.5 million from the original owner, per property records, which have yet to be updated with the latest transaction.
The sale marks the most expensive for Kohanaiki private club community, according to the developer. The 450-acre club offers empty lots to move-in-ready homes at prices ranging from $3 million to $30 million, according to its website.
