To commemorate its 250th anniversary, Veuve Clicquot has created an exceptional journey with Belmond onboard a legendary Venice Simplon-Orient-Express. Guests booking the “Voyage Solaire” experience will spend two days (starting June 5) traveling from Reims to Venice, following the route of the first Veuve Clicquot bottles shipped abroad in 1772. The journey’s name is inspired by the signature sunburst yellow color of Veuve Clicquot labels since 1877.
The experience kicks off at sunrise in Reims, in the heart of Champagne, with a visit to the chalk cellars and a tasting of the Maison’s most prestigious cuvées, accompanied by Cellar Master Didier Mariotti.

The adventure then continues onboard the legendary Venice Simplon-Orient-Express A Belmond Train in an opulent atmosphere. Not only guests will enjoy an authentic décor elevated by art deco details, but also will relish a champagne pairing dinner. The next morning they will be able to admire the sunrise over the Alps from their cabins or the platform at Innsbruck station. The magical experience finishes with a sunset dinner at Cipriani, A Belmond Hotel, Venice, on Giudecca island.

The iconic train features six Grand Suites that draw inspiration from the style of the city’s they are named after – Vienna, Prague, Budapest, Paris, Istanbul and Venice. The elegant Cabin suites are garnished with rich details like fine fabrics and glossy wood panelling. By day, guests staying at Twin Cabins can admire the passing scenery from plush banquette seating, and at night the accommodations are transformed into inviting bedrooms with soft lighting and crisp sheets.
Guests who book a Cabin Suite or Grand Suite will also enjoy a celebratory breakfast in the dining car. And Grand Suite guests are invited to an exclusive pre-journey night at Veuve Clicquot’s private Hôtel du Marc in Reims.
